Error message: Power window anti-trap function

Hi all,

I recently got this error message and will be bringing the car back to the dealer. Anyone has any idea what could have caused this? Should I be getting the dealer to replace anything?

Thanks!

I had the message appear out of the blue on the rear passenger side window, which was completely closed, with nobody in the rear seat. Pulling up on the window control switch and holding it for a few seconds cleared the error. The error hasn't repeated.

Same here, cycled the window up and down a couple times and the error went away.

Yup. It no longer auto closes. I have to hold it to have it closed and it feels like the window is being forcefully closed as well. It's as if there is a force against it.

I did do it a couple of times and the error did not go away. I called the dealer and they told me not to open/close the window. It might cause further damage to the motor/window.

CCL, It sounds like you have a hard error, while mine was a transient. Bringing it to the dealer is the right thing to do.

Did they replace the motor or just try fixing it?

I’ve had the same error message twice now.
All windows function properly.
It hasn’t returned for several months now, so I’m taking a wait and see approach.

Hi,
I had the same message. Went to official dealer 3 times in Belgium.
First time : reset window handling. After some time, the same problem.
Second time : new software (no solution)
Third time : they replace the control buttom.

After 2 weeks, problem seems solved ?

greetz,
Philip.

Will take note of what they end up replacing/fixing.

Yes. I've been waiting for them to not function, but they work fine and I haven't seen the alarm for a few months.
It only happened twice.

I brought it to the dealer today and have just received a call saying that there was a problem with the regulator and they will be ordering a replacement from Germany.
