2012 28i 4cyl Info?

All,

I see discussions of the pro's and con's of getting a current 28i or waiting for the 4cyl version...But just am looking for some solid dates of production and release of the new engine. Does anyone have any word of when it will be released, and if it is for sure going to be in the 2012 platform? Thanks in advance.
