upgrade to BMW Assist Convenience Plan

Anyone has paid $199/year for the Convenience Plan? I just called BMW to subscribe it which can provide information of Bloomberg, weather, etc.

I was interested (mostly for the google lookup for the nav system) but can’t justify $200 for it.

If they charged less ($50 or even $100) they would have a lot more subscribers.

I did, figured I just paid 56k, might as well try it. I have used the google part. Though if i could get it to work from my iPhone would likely not need it.

Do you get the traffic details on nav without this?

I can check clearly the traffic details without this plan. How long did you get it activated? I called BMW yesterday, however still cannot use it now. probably in 48 hours?

I activated at the pcd and it was going by our drive back, so within a couple hours. They told me much longer.

I got it for the Google search which is much better than the integrated search. However I now usually just send my destination to the car from my mac/iPad via Google Maps before I leave since its much quicker to type on a full keyboard and search via broadband.

(from Google maps, select the more drop down, select send, select car)

I don't seem to get a send to car option from my iPad. If I select 'send' it throws up an email template but doesn't give an option to select a car. I've tried both the Mobile and Classic versions of Maps.

Grateful for any tips.

I can't get it to work from the iPad or iPhone either. Big bummer.

Have you actually done this from your iPad or, are just figuring you can? If you have, please give step by step. While I can do this from my Mac, I've not been able to find a send option that leads to that same vehicle selection menu.

It doesn't work from Google Maps on the iPhone. Have tried a few times. Only when using a full broswer. Or it always work from My BMW Remote (only way I've found to do it from a mobile) - sorry Nahoa, I know you haven't go this to work yet!

You can use a third party browser that can fake being a desktop machine. I still find it to be a kludgy mess. Really bummed google limits it for no reason.

Cheapskate!

Have you tried BMW Remote Bustofa? If all you need is to search and send a destination to the car, this fits the bill

Well, every penny counts; I'm saving up for an X3

Haven't tried BMW Remote yet but have been meaning to. Haven't got an iPhone at the moment but thought I'd try it out on my iPad.

Update: Can't do this as I don't have my X3 yet, therefore no Connected Drive login credentials! Harumph!
