No replies to this nearly six weeks after production was due to start so thought I would repost just incase there had been any sightings. Thanks.

Drove the 30d in the X5. Was pretty impressed by it! Still waiting for my 30d to make it to Australia in F25 form.

You get some quality translation on this particular review with Google translate, e.g.

Splendid. I had to laugh at "Wind noise: Fortunately nil". Indeed. Nobody needs wind. Anyone else seen anything?

Full text from above German review for the record: "Hi,
*
I dare the first time a review. Sold my 30d this morning picked up and once drove along by the Republic. Course, are only first impressions:
*
Engine: Wonderful. Beautiful sound, quiet, but always present. He speaks immediately to the gas, and I had not - yet - the feeling that it eventually becomes tough. However, I am max. 150 kmh down. In particular, the intermediate sprint master it confidently. The Kassel mountains have all felt like if hills. The consumption after BC was almost 8 liters, in the end I had a 7 before the decimal point. In my opinion an excellent value. If you give away some driving fun, you can drive the engine loose with 7 liters, but it makes no sense to spend on the driving experience of a BMW lot of money and then sneaking around ... I'm glad to have decided to use the big motor , the "feel good feeling" has hired immediately. The automatic is - the final decision is not - a dream.
*
Agility: The has been described already sufficient. I am amazed about how BMW has managed to give the driver this is not even little fellows feel that he could go through every 90 degree turn at 50 kmh and only one finger on the steering wheel. This can be really dangerous ... In any case, no comparison with the Q5, which already is not lame or lazy box. I still have the sports steering inklv. Performance Control dazugeordert, perhaps, the good handling to it. However, I would think seriously from today's perspective on sports seats. The standard seats are very comfortable and long-distance cruising. The lateral support is not quite with the agility of the car.
*
Wind noise: Fortunately nil. Of course there is wind noise, but they are uncomfortable and not from the feeling not much stronger than in my E91. In my projectionist there was considerable wind noise from 100 kmh on the passenger side - must therefore be any defect. I wish you all where wind noise is present, that the problem is eliminated quickly from BMW.
*
Hifi Prof, Navi Prof: I can not say much, especially the Hifi I have to set at rest. The voice control of the navigation system works impressively reliable.
*
So much for first impressions. If I notice even more, of course, negative, I'll post that later. I wish everyone who has appointed him an entertaining waiting time - was to select the right place!
*
BUK"

Also enjoyed the translation of the first reply to this German review

"Thank you for the report and a lot of fun and always wrinkle-free travel!"

Perhaps Nivea have teamed up with BMW...

Think it's more likely they sit on their suits than their faces! Or maybe it refers to elderly relatives?

Yes the german magazine Autobild has already published one test on the 3.0d version. the X3 is compared to Audi Q5, Mercedes GLK and Infinity EX. Unfortunately the online version is a short summary but you can access to the 62 pictures of this test. It's possible to download the entire article at www.autobild.de, but the ask some €€€

here you go
http://www.autobild.de/artikel/infin...t-1674129.html

And the restults:
1st: BMW X3 with 370 points
2nd Audi Q5 with 367 points
3rd Mercedes GLK with 349 points
4th Infiniti EX with 320 points

Also found some entries on the forum motor-talk.de http://www.motor-talk.de/forum/motor...-t3261183.html. Some quotes of the 3.0d sound as follows (via google translate)

"What can I say? It is a dream! The 20d is so successful and very quiet, but has been bothering me for the (repeated) test drive the engine sound - it sounds bright and tinny than my old E83 20d. I am here but also very delicate.
You will certainly get answers soon ala "Diesel has never been an engine sound, "etc. Of course, I prefer a 6, 8, 10-cylinder gasoline engine is still more. However - I find the 30d class. He is extremely quiet (quieter than the X5 30d I rode sample) and has the typical BMW 30 d sound - something pithy, deep growl and purr. Fits m.E. very well with an SUV.
You'll get shots of me, not so fast at KM-Stand 70 I do not have any acceleration tests.
You can please you anyway!"

"We have our 30d only since yesterday.
The sound is just fantastic. A tough vigorous then purr with a smooth running.
It is a Wahnsinsmotor! You've done everything right, to have ordered a 30d!"
