No. The firmware files ares in ...\psdzdata\swe\swfl so just copying files from ...\psdzdata\mainseries\F025\xxxxxxxxx gets you nothing.

Your flashing an ECU here, which is risky to begin with. You do not want to be using partial psdzdata anyway.

If you are out of space on your local hard drive, you should leave local psdzdata folder empty and put psdzdata folder extracted from PSdZData Full archive on an external drive, and then use Windows MKLINK command to create a Windows Symbolic Link, for example from C:\ESysData\psdzdata to E:\psdzdata.

You can use one of these MKLINK GUI utilities to simply creation of the Symbolic Link:

No, I think only recovery will come form a successful flash. So, I would try and flash it again.

Was motor running when you originally flashed it?

No. I have seen it before on an F10 Kombi, and it was recoverable once flash took.

I do not know what is wrong with your flash though. I have read of others with this issue using a DHCP sever and getting it to work.

Send me TeamViewer Login, and I can look at it.

Create new flash TAL (don't have to run it, just create it) and see if Kombi is targeted for new SWFL or not. If not, it has latest firmware from your PSdZData.

I would not worry about Flash Log Errors. If you had E-Sys Option to Update MSM, it will give an error. All that matters is that car has no error codes.

Hi Shawn,

Initiated this today and so far just made FA and CAFD backup of original configuration files as per April1's tutorial.

However, when reading CAFD files, after "read coding data" in "coding" box, the error report reports 7 errors - please see attached report.
Is this a problem? Tried 3 or 4 times with same result.

Before continuing the process, 2 questions:

- did I do correctly disconnecting E-Sys after reading coding data? Should have done anything else before disconnect? Or is it safe to disconnect anytime anywhere?

- during the process I'm always afraid the car goes off, because I noticed already that after a while it goes off when listening to the radio. If it happens during E-Sys connection, independently of what I could be doing, can it damage or brick something?

Being too cautious because don't want to brick anything.

Tks in advance for your continued support.

You can disconnect E-Sys anytime so long as you are not in the middle of writing data to ECU.

You should not be worrying about the car going off as the motor should be running during coding.

What PSdZData version are you using?

How and where do I reach that?

Well, I have made some progress however.

In spite having the software version F010-15-03-501 = ISTA/P 2.55.0., it seems I was able find the FDL codes after all. Hope this be good news.

I was able to code already button on key fob to close trunk, and tried few others with no success. But I could find them.

Tried to remove the seatbelt warning but didn't find the 3001 section in ACSM module... how is it possible?

Another one I could use your help is to disable DVD speedlock. Please take a look at the attached print screen: as you can see I have no option to put value = FF as stated in the cheat chart. Can you help on this one?

Tried also the digital speed in BC (don't know what this means) and when finished coding an analogue speedometer showed up in the display below speed instrument but after 50 or 60 seconds disappeared. It reset the clock and nothing else. Do you have any suggestion?

When you hit the Connect Button, you were presented a window with a list of Targets, and you selected one. This target had a name, something like F025-14-11-502.

FF is not available from the Dropdown list of predefined settings. You need to change the Werte Value directly:

E-Sys - How to Change Werte Values.pdf:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/att...3&d=1338274757

Digital speed appears in the BC Cluster, and you must cycle through the settings with the BC Stalk to display it.

All the few coding I did was with the engine not running. Is it mandatory?

No, not mandatory, but when the voltage drops too low, and you corrupt ECU CAFD file, you will just wish then you ran the motor per the instructions.
