I know it's a concept but is that front grille functional? Would that contribute to heading in a direction that undermines generations of BMW and their iconic twin kidney grilles? Would love to hear the design reasons for this departure and why the design language within BMW is so conceptually scattered. Compared to i Vision Dynamics, maybe the interior of the grille should have been the same color as the body. That front end at the grille looks like air will hit it like a brick wall and not be very aerodynamic. I will leave that and what if renderings to others.
I will admit it looks good overall but just doesn't seem / feel right. I prefer the massive, over-sized twin kidney grilles on the X7 to this. Just my 2 cents. Also wondering if the side breathers are active.

This and a couple of Porsche 911 forums are the only places you find me since I'm an owner. Like I stated, anyone who can't tell the difference between a BMW and a Kia isn't someone who is in my circle to begin with. My housekeeper doesn't even drive a Kia. Just facts. Again, the truck looks just fine. My only criticism is the range and in the future, the price could be an issue.

So this electrified X3 will compete against the Audi e-tron quattro and the Mercedes EQ SUV which are completely standalone electric models built from the ground up (like the i3 and i8)?

Part of BMW's new design strategy i.e. "fewer but sharper lines."

Our company accountant bought a brand new Fpace and that has been a nightmare for him too he bought an Fpace but instead of that he's just got a diesel low spec XF loaner which he's done more miles in than the car he wanted & bought.

I was wondering this too, I wonder if less people would cry Kia if the grill was more like the iVision Dynamic Concept (i4), without the chrome outline and instead blue with the interior of the grill the same color as the body of the car.

Maybe BMW have actually listened and read all the complaints towards how different the i3 was? They got bashed for making something modern and new. Then the rage is «why can't BMW make a EV that Looks like a normal car, look at Tesla bla bla».
Next time they draw up a full EV, they just use a normal boring excisting chassi. And then we complain about it beeing to normal, not EV like. We should all STFU and let BMW do what they Did best, make great looking cars. The 8 is looking awsome though.

Looks a lot more X2/iX2 than X5/iX5.
