Shawn, searched all thru. No HUD_ENTERTAINMENT found. Only HUD_TURNSIGNAL, but this is not my interest...

Also fighting with acoustic belt warning time(warning displayed is ok, no need to change). Somewhere in forum I found this from you:
ACSM => GWF_IW_DAUER = Werte As Desired
ACSM => GWF_SBR_WARNDAUER - Werte As Desired
The count is in 0.5s steps (i.e. 0C HEX = 12 Decimal x .5s = 6s).

So, I see ACSM => GWF_IW_DAUER, ACSM => GWF_SBR_WARNDAUER, but value to change is only "wert_01(Werte=5A), or wert_02(Werte=64)
What you mean by 'Werte As Desired"???
Thank you

Hi Shawn,

Ordered my ENET cable today. I am setting myself up to do some coding on my new F26, so I assume what is valid for the F25 is also the case for the F26, correct?

Can the software be installed on the D drive (external USB disk) of a Win 8.1 laptop?

Can you also please send me the latest Esys software and psdzdata?

Thanks for info and PM!

X4 should code the same as X3.

You should install E-Sys to C: Drive, but you can set D: Drive as your Data folder.

PM sent.

E-Sys alone only takes up 260 Mb.

No issues with Wnn 8.1, 32-Bit or 64-Bit.

Additional question. I can have my car performance tuned (not by adding HW or chip, just adapting the internal config) and get an additional 50hp doing so. My fear is to loose it with a sw upgrade at the dealer.

Some questions:
1. If tuned that way, I should be able to back up the tuning correct?
2. What do I have to back up?
3. Can I put that config then back to normal or back with the tune to avoid problems at the dealer or with SW upgrades?

Is it possible to code sports auto i.e 2tb on the X3 30d without paddle shifts and by keeping the existing gear changer?

Will this work? Or will it need paddles?

Also if I can get my dealer to change the VO and load it to the car from their system will 2tb get activated and work?

I am highly skeptical of any HP gains simply by modifying DME Coding, but assuming it is possible, you would have to take a snapshot of the before stock coding and then take a snapshot of the after "tune" coding and compare them to determine what exact coding changes were made, and then you would have to manually code them back to DME after dealer update.

You do not want to be backing up coding data from old CAFD "A" and restore it to new CAFD "B", as it may not align.

You do not need paddles to code SAT.

You will not get dealer to make any VO changes without an official retrofit, and there is no official SAT retrofit.

Aah but my dealer has done this before on a friends car. They retrofitted paddles and SAT on an F30. I can push the chap there to change the VO for me.

The only thing is when they changed the VO for my friends F30, it gave them a gear selector error, so they made him change to the SAT lever. I don't want to change the lever, hence asking if by just changing the VO from the dealer end I can activate SAT.

Dealers cannot change official FA. They must order any FA Change from BMW AG, and BMW AG will create a new FA File for car, and send it to dealer to be loaded with ISTA/P and car programmed.

If you have a dealer that changed FA in friend's car to add 2TB SAT, they could only have used E-Sys to do so, in which case the dealer has gone rouge, and they are operating outside the bounds of dealership.

In any case, 2TB in FA may result in expectation of different hardware and hence cause error in ISTA/P. There is no reason though that you can't just add 2TB to FA, without writing FA to car, but load modified FA for Coding purpose and FA Code GWS for 2TB.

I don't know anything about coding, so this is all greek to me

But can I show them the above post as instructions? Will they be able to do it then?

Thanks for the patience in answering my noob questions.

If they are using E-Sys, and it most certainly seems they are, then yes.

Have had great success with all coding except the TPMS. I read earlier in the thread that a set percentage can't use this function. Is there a reason, or maybe something I am doing wrong?

Also, I just updated to the 2015 premium maps.... any concerns there with coding?

Try to drive your car for 15 minutes, you might see temp and pressure readings

I've been driving it for two days with the code in for it. I reset the TPM this morning before I left for work, and still no good. My commute is an hour, so it had plenty of time I have 2VB.

I wonder if it is worth the risk to change your service item timer oil, brake pads, etc all those items that would be covered under warranty service to an earlier date, or if the Dealer would catch on to it when you brought it in. I refuse to believe 15k miles is a reasonable time to get an oil change.

Is there a trail left when you code? Somehow saying that someone connected on "x" date and changed "x" values?

Am I understanding correctly that if you hook up a storage device like an Ipod or External HDD, you can play video off of it with the nav package head unit? This operates of the glove box USB, right?
