I have high hopes for this new platform, especially the x3 m40i.
It has some stiff competition with the SQ5 and GLC43 AMG. BMW better not disappoint on this one!

mkoesel wroteI do not have this information, but these are either official BMW photos or press studio photos, as magazines are often shown the vehicles in advance for their press release to be ready by the time of the reveal. It does say official photos on one picture. Can you name the magazine these were taken from please? I believe these are likely just renders, but it is difficult to know for sure.

advantage20 wroteWhile these may very well be actual photos, the above means almost nothing with regard to the veracity of these pictures. Magazines use that type of language all the time with absolutely no regard for the actual legitimacy of their content. Hence why I would be interested to know the name of the magazine. If it is generally reputable when it comes to stories like this (some very much are, some very much are not), that would be good to know.It does say official photos on one picture.
I can almost begin to make out what looks like part of the magazine's title in the first picture, but I am not familiar enough with publications in France or other French speaking countries to come up with it. It looks like an M preceded by either a D, B, or 3. Google wasn't a big help in this area either, unfortunately. Perhaps someone else can figure it out, if that text is indeed a portion of the magazine's title as it appears it might be.
A Google image recognition search also turns up no hits.

mkoesel wroteI'm afraid those letters simply stand for 'BMW' on the magazine's cover, as the publication seems to have prepared a dossier regarding future BMW SUVs (we can also see a front bit of a photoshop which appears to represent an X7 or X5). We'll soon have official pics anyway. It looks like an M preceded by either a D, B, or 3. Google wasn't a big help in this area either, unfortunately. I'm convinced these are actual photos from the high realism and perfect details (21" mention on tire profile, same alternate front / rear wheel spoke orientation from all angles except that it seems to have rolled a bit in the studio in between photos), and the same general feeling as on your usual studio photos (like for instance when the very first pics of a red 4 Series emerged) or press studio photos (AutoBild...).

advantage20 wroteHa - good catch! I should have been able to come up with that.I'm afraid those letters simply stand for 'BMW'
I was too focused on it being the name of a more general automotive publication.

I was never a fan of the x3 styling so I'm hoping they can change my mind because I would love to get a BMW over say an Audi Q5. If it looks like a baby x5 I will be happy, but I have a feeling it'll look like a bigger x1, which I'm not hoping for.
