Shadowline X-trim without M-sport package?
Does anyone know if it is possible to order the Shadowline X-trim and black roof rails on a non-M sport X3?
Is this trim any different than the X trim on the sport package other than being black instead of ? Just wondering if they'd have a problem swapping it out if you wanted black trim and roof rails. |

Shadowline trim is not a standalone option, nor is it a Priority 1 available option. Same for the black rails. Typically, the elements that identify a special trim level (such as the M Sport) cannot be added to another trim level. This is to prevent dilution of the special trim package.

I thought this might be the case; however, my friend got all black trim, roof rails and grill on his X5 that is non M sport. I haven't looked it up but maybe the X5 just has black trim options I guess.
![]() Not sure I'd go this route with the X3 anyway but it could give it a unique look and go with the black fenders and lower trim. |

Correct, X5 basic trim is black roof rails, and matte black window trim. The M Sport X5 has aluminum roof rails and Shadowline trim.
Each model is a bit different, but they all follow the same general concept of trim levels.
