For those who have already got their X3-$500 BMW Gift card
So I just got an email from BMW/My dealer saying that BMW is hosting some driving event this coming week at my local dealer, and if I attend, then purchase/lease a new X3 before June 30, 2011 BMW will give me a $500 gift card to be used towards BMW accessories...
now...for those of you in my situation--- I was one of the first deliveries of the F25 X3, and I think this is really unfair.. I've emailed my dealer/CA and he said he will be looking into it to see what can be done...but I'd like to know if any of you got this email..and if you think its fair to try to get this BMW gift card---afterall us (that already have our cars, or have signed paperwork) need to be taken care of by BMW as well, dont you think??...especially since this gift card can be used towards BMW accessories only---BMW is getting this all back, so it should be no problem...but.. I may need some of you guys to help me out with this if the dealer/BMW comes back and says "sorry" |

We got the same card but it did not say what the incentive is. I certainly agree with you and bummed because I pre-ordered some accessories which they asked for payment for parts and labor in advance! Some are cross members for the rails, mud flaps, sunroof deflector, window deflectors (which are not in yet) and I have not even gotten so much as a free key ring! Believe you me I think you should go for it as I hope to.

I saw the same invitation, but had a different reaction. I was bummed, but just chalked it up to the normal sales cycle incentives that come and go throughout the year. I am sure the goal is to attract new purchasers, not make prior purchasers happy just like other sales/marketing incentives.

Ok, I will take back what I said. I re-read the note and it just says you need to take delivery by June 30. It does not specify any requirements around purchasing after you attended the event so there might be a case here...

Give 'em a break, they're just trying to sell the cars and it's only $500. There's nothing that says if you buy someone's car they can't offer a $500 discount next month, next week, tomorrow, in an hour, or for the next person in line. Fairness is overrated. Life has never been about fairness. Anyone who tells you life comes with a "fairness guarantee" is setting you up for disappointment.

OK, I just got the email today and registered for the event. I've already ordered my car and it should be here in the next few days. I'll let you guys know if I'm able to get the $500.
