Why bother, January order for August delivery? Really!!!

Finally got firm quote from the dealer, i order now with 50% down payment for Production between April - May and hope for August delivery which will be longer from what i see on this forum. Would you wait this long when you have already disposed your E60 and a 3 year old FULLY LOADED (inc sunroof) used E70 X5 with 20,000 kms is tempting you around the corner for the same price?

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. It all depends on how particular you are about options, whether running costs and size are big considerations, and whether you can actually stand the wait.

The 50% down payment would also put me off. Are they serious? Who holds that money and what happens if they go bust?

I think I would buy that X5 in your position.

50% of 60,000 Euros(4 options only) for a 8 month wait they must be smoking something!! I will offer them 10% deposit and see how it goes, the New X3 my 1st option, used X5 2nd option, I really want the X3 just the right size for my family and its Brand new. If all fail, maybe i try importing from the UK and even that will take as long so in a lose lose situation.

It's all about cash, so they would like to get even 100% from you today, just get seat and relax tracking the vehicle production. And they would invest these money using you as their creditor with 0% rate. Of course it's nonsense, 5-10% max.
X3-X5 is a really heavy choice. I like the new X3, but the logic wispers me to buy 3 y.o. X5, because it's a higher class and it's already tested, so there shouldn't be any headache with bugs of a new car. What is more it's the same price as X3.. Do think twice!
