2011-2012 BMW X3 continues prototype testing. This time in the Alpine mountains.
Spyshots.nl once again bring more spy photos to the web, this time photos of the next generation BMW X3. While these photos offer nothing new in terms of the amount of camo still on the car, they do confirm that the car has grown noticeably compared to the current car, and will make more sense in the BMW lineup next to the current BMW X1. The car should also take a few visual cues from its X1 and X5 bretheren to give it a much more fresh look in line with the current styling themes in the X brand.

If you ever driven a 2007, or newer car, the only thing they need to do is refresh the looks, and stuff in the n54, and CA, and the car is golden. Considering this new x-car is built on the 2012 3er, they will have a winner hands down.

I can't wait! It should be an awesome car. I agree with Red-sauerkraut I have an 2007 and it is perfect for a small suv. I love driving it, its safe for my wife and my huge Alaskan malamute fits in the back in comfort. It just needs to be updated and have an N54.

Expect the n54 w/about 325+hp, w/the 7speed DCT... -and maybe even the [twin-power] single turbocharged n55. The DCT may in fact be the only tranny offered.

I have just take delivery of a 09 X3 3.0d
I originally had a 06 X3 3.0d The 09 model is a 20% better car over the older one. The turbo lag is much reduced, the autobox is much more responsive as well. Interior costmetics are also up a notch ot two. |

It would be nice if we had the 3.0d here... I just had my Tranny flashed for the third time a week ago. Wow... is how I would describe Standard-Drive now. It pulls as if it was in Sport-Drive now, and I almost don't even need to move it over to Sport-Drive. Huge improvement over the last Map that I had loaded.
