Engine Blown - Best Source For Replacement
Bought a 2016 X3 Xdrive28i with 56k miles. My daughter put about 28k on the engine over the last 18 months or so. Engine blew with approx. 84k miles on it.
Long story short - car is in great shape and I'm considering a used (wreck) or remanufactured engine. Hoping that those posting in these forums could point me to quality sources. Thanks, |

Here's a refurbished one if you want to keep the car. Used ones are in the 2K range.

2011 - 2016 N20's have been problematic, 2017+ newer N20's are solid.

Spent about $14k for a new N55 and no issues with it. While it seems like a lot of money, consider the cost of labor if you put in a used engine and turns out it's problematic. Now you have to pay that labor all over again to put in another engine. |
