Black Brick Behind Rear Differential
Hi Folks
Does anyone know what this black piece of metal is? it is behind the rear differential on my 2014 X3xdrive28i and it is leaking some clear oil. Should I be concerned? And can I use this part to jack the rear? https://postimg.cc/DWG65Br0 thanks, |

Part #13, vibration absorber. Do not use it as a jack point. FCP Euro has them for sale.

One of the approved places is the differential itself. Other places are the 4 jack points along the outside chassis and a point under the front crossmember. You'll see it sticking through the shroud. When I jack using the diff. I like to use a block of 3/4" plywood as a cushion to prevent any damage to the casting.
