Running without TPMS in winter wheels
Hi,
Has anyone yet run their LCI x25 with winter wheels that dont have TPMS modules in them? Im going to swap my wheels over next week and just wondered what issues I might experience? I know there will be a dashboard nag as it wont see any TPMS modules, but will there be any other issues? I really dont want to have to pay £300+ for modules, I can live with a dashboard nag for a few months.... Cheers in advance... |

You did not say if RFT:s. If not - you could start with buying a kit with 12V compressor and slime/sealant - from Amazon or elsewhere.
I bought my sensors from tyre shop for about £ 35/each, but shop wanted Kronor The UK, Sweden and Denmark are not on EURO:s. Since they have to remove tyres from rims, there is an additional charge. Shop programmed sensors for BMW. |

You shouldn't have any problems aside from a flashing light at start up, to turn into a solid light after about 15 seconds. At least that's what happens to my M3 when it goes without wheels sensors, and I can't imagine the X3 would be any different.
After a while, you won't even notice the light on the dash... |

I also run winter tires but on a 328xi in the winter without tpms sensors and all that happens is the tpms alert light is displayed as the receiver doesn't see the transmit signal from the sensor, but nothing is affected running wise. However i will say that one of my tires had low pressure which led to a tire failure so just be mindful to watch your tires.
