What Offset for 17x8 to Clear 35i Brakes?
Can anyone confirm what's the max offset (yes max) you need on a 17x8 to clear the calipers on the N55? Looking at winter wheel options and I plan to run a factory set of Style 112's, originally on the E83, which is 17x8 et46.
The factory 308's that came standard on my F25 are 18x8 et43 so I've lost 3mm clearance. I'm hoping a 5mm spacer will be more than sufficient, factoring both the 3mm differential and difference in spoke clearance. |

Have you tried www.willtheyfit.com to punch in the existing and new specs? It will show you a mockup of the new wheel vs. suspension components and stuff.

It's just that it's so close even something as spoke design would offset the "numbers". What this site doesn't do is address caliper clearance. |

The only thing I can help with is that style 148 (17 - 8 ET46) doesn't fit. The spokes are the wrong shape to clear the calipers.
However, I do have style 130 (17 - 7.5 ET48) do fit. UK spec 35d. |

Thanks this is helpful. Do you know how thick of a spacer you would need to get the 148's to fit?

My guess is it wouldn't be much.
I've sold the wheels now so can't check I'm afraid. |

I did a test fit and the 5mm isn't enough. It's enough for the spokes to clear the caliper but the inner barrel itself still touches the top side of the caliper. I might just play if safe and use a 15mm.
