My wife is looking at a 2013 X3, just wondering what others are paying for the new X3 these days. We are in the Northeast US region, is invoice price realistic for a brand new X3?

Thats about $800 over invoice, BMW's invoice is usually around 92% of MSRP, not including the MACO training fee of around $350 or so.

No way my dealer would have done that for special order (which I did).

I also got my 2013 X3 35i for 7% below msrp, special ordered last August in Virginia.

But at the same time, you're giving them a "promise" that you'll buy the car when it arrives. It's also likely that the car will be more expensive and personalized. If you ordered Vermillion Red with Mohave leather (or a weird assortment of options), a dealer is going to struggle to turn that car over if you refuse the deal upon delivery.

California....got mine at end of Dec. Competitive market + year end = reason for deep discount, I believe. Overall, quite happy with the deal.

It depends on who you get, I know a guy who sells under invoice... but most people will tell you you have to pay $500 over and up. It really depends on your market
