Hi All,

Sorry to bring this up again but I've been up against a brick wall with local dealer and BMW direct. I've ordered my X3 and am expecting delivery in February. I have an iPhone 3GS and want to buy the media adaptor which gives enhanced functionality from eBay. However I need to correct part number which will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS and my new X3. This was the response from BMW:

I understand that you would like to obtain the part number for the media snap in adaptor for the iPhone 3GS. At present, I am unable to confirm this information to you without a UK registered chassis number. With this, I will be able to consult our records to determine that this particular adaptor will function in your vehicle.

I don't understand why they need a VIN number for this .

Please can anyone provide the correct part number? If anyone has the iPhone 4S part number as well that would be great.

I have a 3GS as well but at £170 I dont think i'll bother!

Neither would I which is why I'm looking on eBay. Many have upgraded phones from a 3 to 4 and therefore plenty are selling on eBay.
