iPhone 5 connector? - XBimmers

Just upgraded to an iphone5, and realized that the apple connector doesn't work with the BMW cable for the external device anymore. Any solutions?

I have used mine through the USB port with the standard Apple lightning cable. The Pandora app works fine but I haven't really tried much else. Not sure that is what you're looking for but it's at least a temporary option.

If you were using a BMW Y cable before (i.e. you don't have the tech package), you'll need to buy a lightning to 30 pin adaptor. Otherwise you can just use the lightning cable for most functionality or BT audio

Your audio with iPhone 5 will remain the same, you will need lightning to 30 pin adapter for video.

I'm using a 30-lightning adaptor, works great for audio. I don't have video capability.

You won't get video unless you're using a media cradle (or unless you have a 6NR retrofit) so for iPhone 5 you have to wait for new media cradle to be released
