i would buy the Xdrive35i. I drove the X5drive35i; it felt ok. I think the lighter chassis on the X3 would make it more agile, and powerful.

Specification chart shows that 28i track front/rear are 1616/1632mm while 35i are 1594/1610mm. Does it mean that 28i looks wider in front and rear view?

The 150MPH top speed with optional sport package I believe is incorrect. On the X3 forum, someone has commented saying they maxed their X3 xDrive35i with SAP and found it was electronically limited at 130MPH.
