Need switched electrical source
I'm new to this forum but have it visited a number of times and have enjoyed the useful information provided. I have a 2012 X3 3.5. I am installing a remote radar detector display in the kneepad-dash area and need to find a switched electrical source, hot with ignition on or engine on. Normally, I have taken power off the fuse box, but the X3 box seems to be hidden way inside the glovebox panel and pretty much inaccessable (to me). The cigarette lighter is not a switched source so where do I go from here? Thanks in advance.

Found one in the rear. Have not tried the front area.

My recollection is that the OBD port stays powered up, unlike the Lighters, which will power down after 10-15 minutes. I recall past threads that discussed solar trickle chargers, where those two ports were discussed.
