It didn't matter whether they had nuclear arms or not. They denied UN Inspectors, which they agreed to let in after the first war, which was reason enough to go back to war.

Actually it is call a bluff, Saddam was trying to bluff the world and the US knew it, Saddam had to make Iran and Israel think he had WMDs otherwise they would have toasted his ass. He just made it look that way. Go ask Colin Powell, he was the one Bush blamed for bad intelligence.

The reals reason the US went in there was to establish a base of operation to go after Afgan and keep a close eye on Iran. They could no longer operate out of Saudi Arabia, the main reason Bin Laden site as attaching the US. The Saudis wanted the US out because it was causing them problems with their neighbor and citizens. The oil was the icing on the cake.

WMD's was the red heron the US use to get the US people's backing and good old Saddam played right into it all.

Where were the threads defending IRAQ when US/British troops invaded IRAQ? Went in there because there were "missiles", but none were found.

So the US went ino Iraq so they could send their aircraft across Iran's SAM rich country to attack a country they already had aircraft in???? Also the Saudi's wanted the US out but they are publicly buying billions worth of US aircraft??? And that causes hundreds if not thousands of US contractors to upkeep? Plus military for leasons. I think Iraq should of worried about the States and not neighboring countries because his bluff caused the US to go in.
