I don't really understand the extra cost of paying for a covered carrier for a daily driver. I mean, your car will be subjected to worse wear and tear when it's driving on the highway under it's own power. I actually drive on surface streets 99% of the time (live close to work) and I still get stone chips fairly regularly, so I think it's pretty inevitable on these cars...

Now, if you never plan to drive your car on the highway, or if it were a collectable or something, I'd get it.

If you need a car shipped from Chicago call Sprint Express. They shipped my car a couple of times - amazing! iND is using them as well.

I've used United Road www.unitedroad.com and had a good experience (open trailer). They provided the cheapest quote for me at the time and are used by a lot of dealers.

You can also post on uship.com to get bids from a bunch of carriers.

I used www.uship.com. It is a bidding site where you enter what you want shipped, how, from where to where and then the shipping companies bid on it. You pick the best option.

I had a good experience with the site and with the person used.
