X3 Tracking Sticky?
Guys,
I see no sticky for tracking an X3 from the time you order the car to the time it goes to production in the factory, gets on a boat, track the ship, or a truck, to the port and to the dealership. We could do this in 2008 and 2009 when I bought my last BMW. Just placed an order for a 2013 X3 35 M Sport. Can any of you Pro's tell me how to do this if you have cars on order? Thanks |

I finally got sick of the same message on the website and decided to call BMW USA this afternoon. The automated system informed me that my X3 will 'complete production' on April 3rd (!).
Since this seemed too good to be true, I spoke with Customer Service. All they could tell me was the the X3 had finished 'Phase 1' of production. They could not provide a completion date, nor any details regarding when PCD would be scheduled. |

poppap: Interesting that we both got 4/3/12, I wonder if that is an auto-reply. I've heard some rather bad news that NOTHING will be released until they get EPA MPG ratings (our tax $$ at work). Hopefully this doesn't create a delay.
Are you taking delivery at the dealer or through the PCD option? |

I ordered a 2013 X3 N20 a few weeks ago.
I checked the status line via phone on Friday and it said my vehicle had been released to the carrier for transportation. I'm taking delivery in Maryland. |

What's the phone number? My BMW still won't show it up based on my production number. |

In the same boat with the rest of you, can't access production status online, but did call in to get status and my CA has been giving me printouts from his system as well. Ordered on 3/24 scheduled to be completed tomorrow 4/3!! Now if we can just get the EPA/CARB approvals, we can actually schedule the PCD delivery....I really hate waiting!!!

Ditto as everyone else...
Ordered new X3 on Saturday, and the Sales Manager mentioned the EPA/Carb issue as the hold up as well... My SM informed me that my car should be in my hands in about 30 - 37 days. The wait will just about put me over the edge... Cheers, BB |

I am struggling to get my head round this ... in the UK we seem to have 10 weeks between order and build ...
I am week 16 build on a car ordered mid-February ... You guys have like 1 or 2 weeks between order and build ... beating our UK orders to the head of the queue and then get held up for EPA/Carb? |

According to the dealer, the 4/3 date I mentioned earlier is accurate (busy day for them!). Next step is 2-3 days of quality checks. Was told to expect date options for PCD later this week. No idea if the EPA issue has been cleared up, or how this will impact timing. Also still no mention of the 2013 model on the website.
All very mysterious. More to come... |
