I have a 2.0i on order[del week8] with standard headlights [UK spec] Does anyone know if it has daylight running lights. Also has anyone any experience of fuel consumption.

It does have daytime running lights but not the angel eyes LEDs. They are just the dipped headlights at reduced intensity. Get xenons, 100% worth it, not the same car without them
Re fuel economy I assume you mean 20d. Search this forum for fuel economy and mpg, loads of threads with real life feedback. I average about 35 but it's used for lots of short journeys. Can get 43mpg on a run and 50mpg at just over 60mph average 1+&1

They're required on all new UK spec vehicles but you don't have to switch them on yet as you do already in some countries in Europe. Only a matter of time though I think as we adopt a lot of EU laws (but cleverly didn't join the Euro
)

DRL's, at least in Europe are a result of an EU directive. The rational been that if the driver is not responsible for switching on/off in poor light, safety will increase. DRL's can be provided via LED or std technology.
The downside, as some other road user groups quote is that pedestrians and cyclists don't benefit from DRL's - it is said they will be less visible, especially against LED's |

Auto DRL is just a matter of programming. It's a must in Norway cause we get fined driving without them. Even in daylight. If you can't do it from iDrive, the shop can do it in a few minutes. |
