Tire sizing question.. (19")
Currently have 255 40 19 rear and 235 45 19 front Pirrellis..
What other tire set ups have you successfully (no rubbing or fitment issues) ran on an X3 ? Does it differ with the sport suspension and 19's opposed to a non sport suspension ? Can I run a 255 45 rear and 235 50 front ? Sport suspension seems a little rough, maybe adding a little sidewall will help the ride a little bit and sit a tinny higher all around ? Any input appreciated... |

Get smoother roads...drive faster...switch to 17" tires
All of those will provide you with a smoother ride. Swapping to a 50 series tire vs. a 45 series tire will grant you 5% more sidewall, which on a 235 section width tire is 11.75 cm instead of 10.58 cm. I don't think that the extra 8mm of sidewall will make much of a difference.

I know it's not going to make the world of a difference...I live in NJ and I've had several cars and several sets of wheels with as small as 30 or 35 series tires
Just seeing if going a little bigger is possible without rubbing... Personally I think a 3 or 4" lift and some 33" tires would look amazing on it..but with not a vast amount of company's making parts its not so simple or cheap to do.. |

Hartge makes parts to lift it and put on bigger tires. The look is questionable at best...

Bora is right about wheel sizes. The 17" is a really good balance between comfort and performance. You can even track an X3 without problems with 17" wheels. Ask me how I know
