"Pulled the trigger" on a new X3
Made my deal on a new X3 2.8i yesterday. Pretty excited about the order. Arctic White, Technology, Premium, Executive, Black Nevada, Roof Rails, Wave Brown Trim, Special Order Sport Seats.
I own a MB E550 Coupe and this vehicile is for my wife. She liked the GLK better in appearance but with all the value the X3 provided MB could not come close to the 2.8i in price terms. Dealer could not get price for "dog barrier" that is shown on forums yet - ???? pretty good deal and got the sales manager to throw in a round of golf, beer and all the hot dogs I could eat.....

How did you manage to get the "special order" sport seats? When I ordered my 28i, I couldn't get the sport seats unless I moved up to the 35i turbo version. Was a special configuration number made available to you if so, would you mind sharing it and also if you don't mind, how much was the special order value for these sport seats? Although too late now for me because my car went into production last Friday, I may have words with my CA anyway to show him it can be done! Thanks Dave

Code for sport seats special order is 481. Code for Special order itself is 99. I got mine for $1500. Special order 99 is $400 and the 481 is $1281. I had sport seats in my 335 and would not buy a BMW without them. I'm a big guy and the thigh supports are great. Hope this helps.

The "dog barrier" is integrated with the rear storage cover thingy. Was standard on my 35i. Maybe he couldnt find it because it's a already included vice an option.

Thanks Holeinoneboy,
Much appreciated. It's a shame I had no way of knowing in advance of my order and more unfortunately, I took the word of my sales advisor. I'll be speaking with him tomorrow and will let him know about the "special order" number(s). Thanks again Holeinone, much appreciated. Dave

Congrats on your new ride! I ordered the 35i model and waiting for it to arrive in March. Did you purchase any of the extras from the dealer such as the 3M hood film, protection package, extended maintenance plan, tire / rim insurance, etc
I'm still deciding whether to lease or buy this vehicle. I just received from BMW Canada a coupon for $750/$1500 depending if I lease or purchase a new BMW vehicle. |

I never purchase the dealer extras. I will put a 3M clear bra on the vehicle but will buy it directly from local installer. Saves lots of $$$. I won't buy tire / wheel insurance. My sense is the premium paid for the insurance is not worth the risk IMHO.

Really? I did not know that the "net" barrier is integrated in the privacy cover.... I'll have to look into this.

At least on my car it is. Don't know if that's model dependent, but it's part of a single removable piece in mine. Let's you move it from behind the rear seats to behind the front seats when the rear seats are folded down.

Thanks for checking Nahoa and I hope it is standard on the 28 as well. I saw it on the website and Lord knows we need it for 2 90 pound Labs!

Big Labs! I have a smaller 70 lb Lab and a 70 lb Greyhound. Without them this car would have been a 335i, but I'm very pleased with the X3. It's not clearly the same as a 335i, but I've also never driven anything like this (SUV/SAV/Crossover) that drives so similar to a sport sedan.

Congrats on your order!!! Is the new X3 35i have the same engine as the cuurent X5 35i?
I am having a hard time deciding if I should get the new X3 with M-Sport Package or X5 with M-Sport Package...they are basically same thing except in size right?? |
