I finally got a used transfer case and get it installed from a regular mechanic. After scanning the OBD, it looks like the transfer case says - "clutch position open, only rear-wheel drive". Also now my car is showing Chassis Stabilization Malfunction and also when I reach close to 100kn/h another warning says Drivetrain Malfunction. I asked the mechanic if this is a calibration problem and he's not sure. Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the new transfer case may need to be registered to the car. Many replacement parts do. Is your regular mechanic an experienced BMW mechanic, familiar with BMW software tools?

I have a similar issue on my 2011 X3 35i, with only 36k miles. I recently replaced all 4 tires and started to see this behavior (vibration/shiver) and it only does when am i making sharp turns (parking lot or my garage) at low RPM. Runs good at all other conditions. Saw several posts on 300 series forum and few said it got fixed when they got their steering rack changed, but for most it still persists. Anyone has any new thoughts on this?

I had a similar issue - I got new air filters, and an adjustment to my steering joint as well and it seemed to help. Couldn't tell if it was a side affect or the actual problem, but it certainly felt safer.

Hi. Had this same issue. During a full turn / close to full turn at slow speeds such as in a parking lot I would get a shaking feeling. Shop thought initially it was worn out control arms initially. Upon working on the car they noticed the drive shaft was also worn out at the U joints. They replaced the control arms and drive shaft and when I got the car back the shaking was reduced about 80% but still there. I brought the car back and they replaced the transfer case fluid and it seems fine now after having the car back for a day. Will need to see if it comes back.
