Best method to clean bugs off the headlight lense covers?
Just wondering what will not destroy the clarity of the lense covers. I was thinking maybe Simple Green but before I do, I thought I'd see what others have been using. Also, how about getting the bugs off the front end without destroying the Zaino'd job. Any ideas?

Z6....I have that. Used it last week then the next day got seagull crap all over the hood and roof while I was at the beach. I wonder if Z6 would have taken that off too. I just wiped the surfaces with a really wet cotton towel and dried it. I'll try Z6 on the lenses. Thanks.

Another suggestion is to use the regular wax on your lenses when you are polishing the car anyway. Makes it easier to clean off insects etc later and the lenses stay clear and bright longer.

As an aside, how do you get all the bugs out of the screen mesh that pops up when the sunroof is open? (and not destroy the mesh). I haven't tried yet because I keep forgetting when I clean the car. Maybe just a brush will work but some of them seem really stuck to the mesh. |

As far as I know there are no problems over time with waxing the lenses, I have done it for quite a few years now with all my cars and my experience is just positive. Btw is Autoglym insect remover my product of choice for "debugging" before waxing but I assume most high-end products will do.
Regarding cleaning the mesh in front of the sunroof I haven't thought about that yet since the car is still new. Vacuum cleaner with a soft brush? |
