Temperature adjustment

With the temperature hitting single digits over night I've started using the windshield defrost in the mornings.

A couple of things that I find very annoying about the defrost is that when selected the fan automatically activates to the highest speed. Secondly, there is no temperature control (only hot).

I guess I can live with the stupid high speed fan (manually adjusted down every damn time) but the temperature being fixed at max heat is stupid.

Maybe I'm missing something... I'd love to be enlightened.

Anyway, fixing the defrost annoyances is a top priority when I get into coding.

Isn't that the whole point? You get max defrosting immediately, otherwise you would just adjust the normal ventilation to favour the windscreen and increase the fan.......

No not really. The front defrost doesn't have to blow 100mph to clear the windows... the fan speed should remain at the previous speed setting IMO.

I don't find the other ventilation setting clears the fall condensation off the windows very well.

EDIT: ok I'll eat some crow. I tried the upper most vent setting and realized I hadn't turned on the AC to remove the moisture from the air blowing on the inside of the windshield... and yes I can set the temperature.

:-) shame that other manufacturers don't offer heated front windscreens like Ford do (in the UK). That would be even better!

Yes it its a pitty.

I believe that Ford has a patent on the heated front windscreen system.

This is true and is a right pita as its a brilliant feature
