How rare is your manual transmission 2.5i?
After running VIN's for countless hours, I have finally gathered color data from the X3's with manual transmissions. So how rare is your X3 2.5i with manual transmission? The numbers speak for themselves.
The VIN range includes US & Canada spec X3 2.5i equipeed with manual transmission. Model Year 2004 VIN Range US & Canada 03/2003 WA77000-WA77001 (2) 08/2003 WA77002 (1) 10/2003 WA77003-WA77009 (7) 02/2004 WA77010-WA77027, WA77030-WA77049, WA77051 (39) 03/2004 WA77028-WA77029, WA77050, WA77052-WA77322, WA77324-WA77326 (278) 04/2004 WA77323, WA77327-WA77477, WA77479-WA77495 (169) 05/2004 WA77478, WA77496-WA77662 (168) 06/2004 WA77663-WA77833 (171) 07/2004 WA77834-WA77957 (124) 08/2004 WA77958-WA78015, WA78019-WA78039, WA78041-WA78094 (133) Total Produced Units = 1,092 Model Year 2005 VIN Range US & Canada 08/2004 WA78089-WA78094 (6) 09/2004 WA78040, WA78095-WA78109, WA78111-WA78190 (96) 10/2004 WA78016-WA78018, WA78191-WA78240 (53) 11/2004 WA78110, WA78241-WA78270, WA78272-WA78291 (51) 12/2004 WA78292-WA78327 (36) 01/2005 WA78328-WA78354, WA78357-WA78381 (52) 02/2005 WA78271, WA78382-WA78426 (46) 03/2005 WA78427-WA78493 (67) 04/2005 WA78355-WA78356, WA78494-WA78543 (52) 05/2005 WA78544-WA78581 (38) 06/2005 WA78582-WA78640 (59) 07/2005 WA78641-WA78658, WA78663-WA78668 (24) 08/2005 WA78669-WA78670 (2) Total Produced Units = 582 Model Year 2006 VIN Range Canada 07/2005 WA78659-WA78662 (4) 09/2005 WA78671-WA78673 (3) 10/2005 WA78675-WA78680 (6) 11/2005 WA78674, WA78681-WA78683 (4) 12/2005 WA78684-WA78688 (5) 01/2006 WA78689-WA78698 (10) 02/2006 WA78699-WA78704 (6) 03/2006 WA78705-WA78711 (7) 04/2006 WA78712-WA78716 (5) 05/2006 WA78717-WA78723 (7) 06/2006 WA78724-WA78731 (8) Total Produced Units = 65 I will make further updates with 3.0i/3.0si numbers for colors and I will continue to make improvements to the thread. Where can I find source the info for the 3.0?
I've been looking this year for a 2007-2008 manual trans w the Msport package. I have my color preferences but I've only come across one M-Sport manual transmission thus far. Figured if I can get the VINs, I could automate online searches more effectively than what I'm doing now: I've found filtering the search criteria for manual transmission is extremely unreliable and inaccurate. |

Wow great post.
Interesting to see, and they are still quite rare. It was the 1st Gen X3 manual that got me interested in BMW. I've had C300 Benz in the past but have mostly had pickup trucks otherwise (have a current model Ram 1500 also). I'm looking for advice on buying a used X3 manual transmission. I'm looking in Canada and have found a few but the lowest mileage is 225,000 km's and I was hoping to find something closer to 150,000 range but no luck. There are countless automatic's available and I mean countless (I think Canada is among the top consumers of BMW and IS the top consumer of Mercedes in the world so neither are rare here, but the manual transmissions seem to be). What mileage is too much for these cars? I'm thinking of getting one just as a second play vehicle so that's why I want manual. Anyway, I'm new to the forum so just saying hello to everyone and looking forward to reading and learning allot. Cheers! |

Nice Info!!
First time poster.
I also have a 2005 e83 X3 3.0i with a manual transmission. I have just slightly less than 309k miles and still have the original clutch. I've always loved it and it's been a blast to drive. I did recently purchase a 2016 f15 X5 xDrive35i with the M-sport package. Very comfy, but not the fun driving experience of the X3. Thanks again for the info listed above. I'm trying to find out just how rare the 3.0i w/ manual is. All the best!! |

I do not think this data is correct. The 2.5 X3' in USA should start with vin WBX
