I did search - honestly - but the ones I found cannot seem to find a speedo one.

Looking for a good (preferably glass) protector for both iDrive screen and the speedo area for an LCI model (M40 so big iDrive screen and the digital dash).

Any pointers would be welcomed. Oh, and appreciate others may ask "Why?" but being the person who accidentally scratched my speedo area a few years ago I like to take no chances ;-)

I've seen the ones on Amazon for the iDrive screen. They have mixed reviews and I'm afraid of wasting my money or it damaging the screen. Other issue seems to be increased glare.

I don't touch the screen, but I'm still worried about freak accidents like my 3 year old attacking it with the window punch like she did in my wife's car. Don't ask.

So far I'm leaning towards leaving it bare when the factory plastic falls off.

Seems fine to me. I decided not to go for a speedo one because a) it would have to come from china and b) it would be a pig to fit.

In the description is says 10.25, which is smaller than the 12.25 version on my car. What size did you fit ?

LOL _ I was just looking at this EXACT one on Amazon, they only have two left (one now I ordered it before I clicked post ;-).

Regarding speedo - totally agree about bubbles but I go for glass / hardened plastic usually which elminates that problem (usually). I seem to recall someone on this forum posting a good one ages ago but I forgot to save it :-/

The problem even with glass is static attracts fibres and shit to the contact side which leaves bubbles. The bigger the size the bigger the problem….

I'm totally medical about my approach to applying protectors to screens. When I do my iPhone I stip off naked waist up and religiously get ANY filament (I use a magnifying glass) off the surface and make sure I'm on a dust free surface with a fan blowing. It's really that bad, but my results are always 100% :-)

Now picture that in a car :-/. Well, my last one I did to perfection. All about da planning ...

So is mine - this fitted perfectly so i guess the car fitment was right but not the headline text.

Oh shit - you have me worried now - I ordered this one above the one that says 10.25". However the LCI screen is 12.2.

The dimensions of the thing on Amazon are 32cmx12cm and pythagoras tells me therefore the diagonal is ... 13.2". WTF?

The key ask - fulcrum do you have M40i/d? OR do you have the pro screen which is 12.2"?

I am wondering if to cancel my order :-|

The glass ones are great , the ones that are a TPU film stay away from ! I got a 2018 with the old cluster and the smaller touch screen . I got a glass one for both, but was having problems with the cluster. So I figured I should take it off before bringing it in to be reprogrammed so they couldn't say it was because of the screen protector .When taking it off it broke , but the one from Amazon for the touch screen was glass and worked perfectly. I ordered another for the cluster from AliExpress but was the TPU film type you have to spray with water like the old phone protectors. Do not buy this kind ! $hit show trying to put on ! It's in the garbage now .

I have a M40i - brand new picked up Saturday.- I went out and measured the screen it is well over 12 inches and this one fits fine. I used the packaging to scoop up a dead pigeon so cant check that. You will be fine. Photo attached
