Thank You X3 and goodbye
2011 X3 178K miles - skidded on a thin sheet of ice. Totaled.. Check attached pics.
Cost of ownership - 13k Stranded - Only once - Start motor failed. Saved out lives - Not a scratch. Alas - They don't make inline 6 anymore. |

Even though it looks bad, it still can be fixed.
A friend had a kinda similar accident and he found a X3 with a totally smashed up rear at Copart. 2 weeks of work in the garage and the rear ended X3 donated its front to the front damaged one. Make one out of two. Just saying. |

I am sure you have tons of experience during snowy days in FL.
IMO, one do not need to go "fast in that weather" to slid off. An unexpected black ice patch can send a car uncontrolled, even on flat surface with speeds not exceeding 10mph.

lived up north many years... it was more of a reference to "that much damage" vs. just sliding off the road.
