Potential X35d Purchase Couple of Questions

New job involving a potential 55 mile cross country hack.

Thinking X3 35d.

Am guessing 18" wheels will provide the most comfortable way of absorbing the countryside rough roads. I didn't think 18's would fit but THIS site suggests otherwise?

Seems 245/50/R18 will do the trick?....does anyone run with these currently?

I see few cars are being sold with the media pro large screen....most have the smaller...can it be retrospectively upgraded easily or do prohibitive costs potentially loom?

Any known gremplins to watch out for on these cars?

18" fit, I run them in the winter with my X3 35i

We've got both 19" and 18" (with winter rubber) on our F25 30d and find that both are fine on UK country backroads - they are both wearing runflats and the 18" are marginally more comfortable but I think that will reverse soon as the 19" set are due for some new rubber and I'm intending to go for Michelin PS4 non-runflats

This is my favorite BMW, its power is great and its handling is great for a large SUV, i prefer it to the similar spec X5. I run 18 inch all round with winter run flats, so far i would say comfort has gone up slightly from my 19 inch summer setup. Personally i prefer the harder ride of the run flat set up but that is a personal thing. Only word of caution is use good quality tyres and keep a check on them wearing so as not to get transfer box issues, basically no big reason not to get one.

My '16 28d came standard with 245/50/R18s and my winter setup is 17s. Everything fits fine without issue. The ride is very good without run flats. The run flats' ride was somewhat harsh over potholes.
