DIY Front Left Door Interior Inner Handle Pull Trim Replacement
If your door handle is ruined/sticky/eroded, here is my fix:
It was the best $20 that I have ever spent. I have taken photos showing before and after. No tools required. 30 Seconds to do max. Instructions: Slide up the panel/trim piece that is flush with the door. Once that is removed, drop in the new part until it snaps in place. Done. Here is a link to seller's auction where I bought it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Left-...72.m2749.l2649 Search for either Ebay Item # 233028840193 or using the following description "Front Left Door Interior Inner Handle Pull Trim Fits For BMW F25 F26 X3 X4 11-17". My seller was Motoreus. Member since: Jul-12-19 in China There are a lot of ebay sellers that show shipped from US, but are "Member since: xxx in China". I assume they have someone in the USA shipping the items since people don't want to wait for an item to be shipped from China, which can take 10 days to 2 months LOL... |

atwnsw and others, great finding this post as my door left door cup has rubber that is ripped, split and getting gooey and needs to be replaced.
But can't seem to get past the first step of sliding the back up. What's the trick to that? Thanks in advance |

Excellent part. Thanks for posting. I got the black version to match my original. Easy to install.
No tools needed. I just pulled out and up and the original piece popped out. Thanks for posting this upgrade! |

I am having a similar issue but on the passenger side. The black part of the inside of the door pull is deteriorating and leaving sticky. Has anyone come across this before? Any ideas on how to fix it?
I had the issue with the drivers door and just used a knife to remove the old rubber and goo off to remove the sticky and works well. I am tempted to buy the part on ebay as the results above seem worth it. BUT i cannot figure out what to do with the passenger side. any help is appreciated. |

Can't do it! I ordered the part and wanted to get this done but: my handle trim is secured with two hex screws, no problem, but the replacement part also shows two further screw-ports on each side (or forward and back on the door), doubt this will ever come out without removing the entire door trim.
Mine's a 2015 X3, wonder why this is different. |

Cool, thanks. So you don't remove the old door-pull on method 2? Not a bad solution, but I guess at this point I'll do the door since I have the OEM replacement in hand.

Thanks Lieutenant Colonel for that informative last post. You may re-read the thread and determine, from an outside standpoint, that this was not totally clear as "No tools required. 30 Seconds to do max" does not get me on the same page as everybody else who's known this issue and solution longer.
I had no idea such cover-up jobs existed. Now I know. But when I followed links to ebay auctions that no longer exist and then found parts located in the USA, I did not discover an apparent difference between those auctions that showed up for method 1 or method 2. "So you don't remove the old door-pull on method 2?" was a rhetorical question as evidenced by my conclusion to remove the old one anyway, to clarify this thread to those who similarly mis-understood this particular solution thus far.
