I am located near Toronto in Ontario Canada and so is my dealer. I originally had ordered my X3 28D near the end of July. Maybe 2 weeks later we visited dealer to ask if they had info on any inventory they could find and answer was no they had to place order for it which was fine as this was expected to happen in the first place. The sales manager estimated the car would be delivered to the dealer by mid September.
Recently I got word from the new car sales specialist at my dealer that the car is set for October production with estimate of end of October, early November delivery. This is terrible news for me :'( way further then what i was told earlier.
Is it possible that my dealer gave my production slot to a new customer and gave my slot for later car production? Maybe they struck a better deal with the next customer who walked through the door that also wanted an X3 Diesel!
Either I wait, or I'm thinking I find another dealer in my area who has a production allocation coming up who can configure my car for me and order it sooner if this is even possible. That is if they even have production allocation! Also money becomes another factor as maybe this 2nd dealer will not want to budge on sales price.
Is it possible to get my deposit back in the worst case scenario that i choose not to buy this car, and possibly switch cars/ brands/ dealer?
Thank you in advance for your responses and taking the time to read this post!
