Given that most of my driving is local, urban driving, the heaters never worked well enough to get warm before I arrived at my destination.

The car was only 17 months old when I traded it in for my X3 - and I'm so glad I did. The X3 is in a completely different class to the CR-V. Plus, the heaters work nicely too.

To my mind, there is no competition - X3 all the way.
Had exactly the same problem with mine, and they could never fix them. You could forget trying to defrost the thing in winter, utter rubbish. It would nearly take a good 10 mile to get toasty in the car. In the X3 it's usually hot in a couple.
