On my previous car with the same engine, I only serviced it once during the 14,000 miles motorway miles I covered. A fluid and filter service at main dealer cost me £420.
If you are expecting to average more than 15,000 annually over a 3 year period OR if you have a big engine, a service pack is good value. If your mileage will be low or you are likely to change car, it's not a bad decision not to buy a service pack.
There is always an option to buy one before the first service.
