A parking heater pre-heats the engine and the car. It uses a timer and/or a remote control; at the set time the engine and car interior will be warm. Also: no more de-icing of windows in the morning! Most German/Swedish brands offer this as a factory installed accessory but for the X3 you need an after market system (see the link in my signature). It works on the car's fuel so no hassle with cables.
Made some pics at the dealer this morning. It looks great! The cup holders don't have the chrome inserts I've seen on pics of other X3's on the forum. Is that only available in the USA? My car has been build recently as you can see on the label in the third picture
