The best method is to take out the screen (there are DIY's on BMW forums), clean the damaged OE screen protector (I used Novus from Amazon - kit has 3 bottles), then you either leave it like this pending if sun glaring is an issue, or you find a good quality spray-on screen glaring/protector. There are also films that one could apply on the screen.
