Absolutely, I know it's a good auto box, but I always get bored with automatics after a few weeks. I recently hired a mercedes GLK350 in Canada and whilst it was a really nice car with an auto box which seemed well suited to the engine, I really enjoyed getting back in my current X3 when I got back (which, as I'm sure you've guessed, is a manual).
I'm sure it seems unusual these days, but I'll always go for the manual version of any car as long as its still offered. Suppose that's what makes us all different.
