IMHO, our X3 without DHP is extremely rigid and somewhat unforgiving on our bad roads. It can be pretty harsh at times. But that stiffness is there to offer an unmatched sporty and controlled feeling. It is very very solid. We bought a 2013 335i and went with the DHP this time in an effort to smooth things out a little.

My father just bought a 2013 ML350 and it completely isolates you from the road. If you want floaty look at SUVs from Lexus and MB.

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being hardest, I'd give the X3 (w/o DHP) a 9, the MB a 3 and if I recall the Q5 was probably in the middle somewhere.
