Well trzmo, I have been driving for 27 years and have never had anything like this happen before. Accidents have been minor and few and far between. So I wouldn't be too concerned, all the dickheads are looking out for me at the moment!
But rest assured, you will LOVE your 30D. It is simply awesome! The overtaking ability is phenomenal and fuel economy will improve as you drive it. If yours is black, may I suggest, if you are thinking of paint protection, of considering the GTechniq C1 paint treatment for $600 from Mr Gloss? I have mentioned it on this blog under paint and leather protection and it is much better than BMW's own product. And it's pretty permanent too. Cheers and merry christmas with your new toy!
