Thanks all. The $4500 eco credit is basically another way of saying "rebate" on the X5 35d, which BMW considers and "eco" friendly model, which it kinda is. It's so tempting as I want the somewhat smaller X3 but those damn multi-contour seats in my current car and that would be in the X5 are really the big deal. I am very tall and have some major back problems. And of course the fact that it's way more expensive vehicle for cheaper out of pocket and lower payment which will really help right now.
