This might be rubbish and I have no evidence to back this up but I thought I read something somewhere when I ordered that they can only take the £1000 if they have to sell your car to someone else for less than the price you agreed, and then you would only lose the whole £1,000 if they had to sell for £1,000 less than the price you agreed
