For myself I just placed my order for a 2,8i and don’t regret waiting.
The current engine in the 2.8i has been around for a long time now and is a great engine.
While the new 4 sounds great and a win-win, it is as yet unproven for reliability.
I have already broken my “don’t buy a first year model” rule, but seeing that so many of the major components on the F25 have tried and true components and to-date there are so few reports of defects I decided to gamble.
I’m most likely being overly cautious, but with a new engine platform I’d like to see a year or two of results before feeling comfortable ordering it.
