Perforance Control and Driving Dynamics Control are the same thing, and that is the name of the switch. Not sure why it has two names. The button is there if you have a 28i with DHP, or a 35i with DHP and/or SAP. In the case of 35i with SAP but without DHP, the switch will adjust the shift points and firm up the power steering ONLY. It will not change the suspension settings.

I believe so. I think the terms are different for US/CA/AU/EU, but the feature is the same.

EDC = Electronic Damping Control AKA Dynamic Damping Control in some brochures.
