Hi, I've just bought a 2004 2.0 diesel which runs, drives and performs fine, except cold starting problems. It takes 20-30 seconds to start when cold, but starts instantly when hot. Battery is fully charged and voltage drop tested as strong.

I've just replaced all 4 glow plugs, but thats not improved the cold starting. No OBDII codes being reported.

The OBC is reading the coolant temperature correctly.

I've checked the DDE fuse and it's fine, so now I'm thinking it could be the glow plug control unit which needs replacing.

Does anyone know where the Preheating (glow plug) control unit is located?
