Interesting thread.
When BMW sell you the car they tell you how reliable it will be.
When it's coming out of warranty they tell you need an expensive insurance policy to cover the car.
If BMW is so sure about their car quality (and you agree for the local BMW dealer to service the car) surely the extended warranty price should reflect that confidence.
I've got one year left on my warranty. Very happy with the car. Only had a couple of minor issues.
