I am not talking about hesitation: if in AUTO, gearbox has to downshift, before acceleration - means delay and jerk.
If in SPORT, of course the downshift, delay and jerk will be slightly less - but no way as smooth as if using MAN- and properly prepare for overtake.
Note: I was not thinking - should be 80 footer! Even the UK has shifted into the Metric system!
